Amniocentesis
Amniocentesis is a specialized prenatal diagnostic procedure in which a small sample of amniotic fluid surrounding the baby is collected using a thin needle under continuous ultrasound guidance. The sample can be tested for certain chromosomal and genetic conditions and other conditions when clinically indicated.
